High performance, safety and reliability
GPON networks guarantee high performance with high levels of security and the guarantee of a stable and reliable system
Widest Bandwidth Ever
GPON networks guarantee a very large bandwidth, equal to 2.5Gbit/s in download and 1.25Gbit/s in upload, allowing the simultaneous passage of the various services requested by the customer, such as WiFi, IPTV, CCTV, telephony, home automation or alarm systems.
In the project engineering phase, Fracarro evaluates the actual bandwidth demand with particular attention, in order to always guarantee the most adequate performance with respect to the customer’s needs.
The bandwidth available to GPON networks will increase considerably with the availability on the market of new SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) devices, to be inserted inside OLT (Optical Line Transmitter) optical transmitters to guarantee up to 10G bit/sec (XG-PON): in this way there will be no limit to the availability of services to be distributed.
If required, it is possible to increase the number of rooms served by the GPON network by dividing the optical signal up to 64 ONT devices for a maximum of 512 RJ45 copper sockets on each PON port.

Data security
Security in GPON networks is entrusted to the various phases of synchronization between the central OLT machine and the ONT distributed in the field and configured centrally. In this way, only the correctly activated ONTs will be able to verify the information passing through the network and acquire those dedicated to them.
To further improve security, in download communications – therefore from OLT to ONT – GPON networks implement information encryption solutions, thus avoiding unencrypted transit.
Reliability
The first guarantee of reliability of GPON networks is linked to the use of optical fiber, which guarantees perfect immunity to electromagnetic disturbances and interference, together with excellent protection from any atmospheric discharges.
Also from the point of view of system management, GPON networks are advantageous because thanks to their point-to-multipoint configuration, they make it possible to limit any malfunctions to the local concerned only, unlike traditional distribution where the simple failure of a switch compromises a substantial part of the system.
