VIOLA PARK, Firenze

Fiber optic SAT and IP TV system

Design: CREM
Installation: Bongi Vildrigo
Location: Bagno a Ripoli, Firenze

Designed according to the principles of sustainability and harmony with nature, the ACF Fiorentina sports center extends over approximately 31 hectares and includes 12 playing fields, 2 stadiums, 4 gyms, as well as a medical center and numerous other services.

Request

Offering an excellent technological service to professionals and fans attending the center, with the ability to:
• Watch any external program
• Broadcast internal content produced within Viola Park itself
• Ensure the best possible signal quality.
• Minimize the aesthetic impact of the technological solution

Solution

The system is designed to handle satellite TV and IP signals, enabling flexible and comprehensive access to multimedia services. Distribution is implemented using fiber optics to cover long cabling distances without any loss or degradation in signal quality.

The fiber optic solution also allows for easy infrastructure scalability in the event of future expansions, ensuring consistent and reliable performance for all connected users.

Plant

The reception section consists of two ELIKA 700 C antennas for terrestrial channels and one 100 cm dual-feed dish for the orbital positions at 13° and 19.2° East.

In the attic, one FR PRO switchboard equalizes the digital terrestrial multiplexes, while two optical transmitters convert TV and satellite signals into fiber optics.

The utility room houses the rack with one 3DGFLEX switchboard with redundant power supply, which transmodulates and processes satellite channels, and one GALAXIA switchboard, also with redundant power supply, for the reception and distribution of IPTV channels, Video On Demand (VoD) services, and internally produced content; one GALAXIA backup switchboard also ensures service continuity in the event of a malfunction.

The signals reach the facility’s 12 buildings via fiber optic distribution and are distributed using SWP series multiswitches. The satellite signal is also distributed in 1st IF mode, allowing any decoder (SkyQ, TivuSat, TV with satellite tuner) to be connected to each socket. Each network socket in Viola Park can be enabled to receive a customizable selection of TV channels.

The entire system can be managed remotely, allowing for operational verification and timely identification of any issues, ensuring a consistently adequate service for the facility’s needs.
