GPON configuration and maintenance
The GPON solution offers important advantages also in the configuration and maintenance phases of the system.
GPON system configuration
The OLT central apparatus allows you to create several configuration profiles, with specific indications with respect to the Ethernet ports associated with the services of the various VLAN networks.
Once connected to the main machine and associated with a certain profile, the ONT optical receivers automatically acquire the configurations of both the LAN, WIFI and POTS ports for telephony. This feature is particularly convenient in case the device needs to be replaced.
Configurations can also be managed remotely, using EMS (Element Management System) software in the cloud.
GPON system maintenance
The maintenance of GPON networks is carried out simply in the first place because the system is mostly made up of passive devices, less prone to malfunctions.
The structure of the point – multipoint system also allows you to intervene in a precise manner only on the device to be checked, preserving the functionality of the system.
